Should We Live with Software Insecurity?

Ben Worthen of the Wall Street Journal recently reported on the Black Hat Conference, the tech security conference, in his post, Living with Insecurity. He noted that Ian Angell, a professor of information systems at the London School of Economic, speaking about software insecurity, told the audience just to live with it. Ben said that “while Angell’s advice is everyday behavior for the overwhelming majority of people – albeit without an awareness of the risks they’re taking in most cases – it’s a radical notion at Black Hat.”

It is also a radical notion to many of our clients. This is why we put Connectbeam within an appliance behind the firewall. It also makes updates much easier. There is always some insecurity around but some of it is optional. We are trying to provide a chance to reduce insecurity around enterprise data.
