Anyway, social bookmarking is the best tool there is for keeping people on the same page (you just thought it was the wiki), and it is my favorite thing to evangelize bar none.
We wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment above.
But we disagree on some of the statements below:
Which is why I‘m less than bullish on the enterprise versions of social bookmarking. Rarely are the people we need to network with completely in our own organization. I know about the attempts to integrate the enterprise versions with the consumer tools, and don‘t think that will work.
Same argument could be flipped on its head, that is - rarely are the people we need to network with completely outside our own organization (place of work).
I would further argue that the impact on our professional career and growth is much greater from those whom we have gotten to know and network in our jobs (past and present).
And yes, an enterprise focused social bookmarking tool needs to be built from the ground up to focus squarely on the unique workflows and use cases specific to enterprises. A hybrid approach will not work.
